October 7:  Skid Rogues

The musical duo of Carissa Smit and Jay Vilhauer have assembled a collection of charts ranging from 80’s and 90’s rock, contemporary show tunes and traditional jazz that give Skid Rogues a tremendous repertory of styles and periods. Ms Smit’s sultry vocals are balanced with Vilhaur’s nimble keyboard work and intricate harmonies to create a 20th and 21st century American songbook that forges delightful similarities between contemporary writers, and masters from the past.   Sponsored by Bob Vernon and Marjorie Bianco-Vernon See the video

October 14: David Duvall

Join versatile pianist/vocalist David Duvall along with Robert Baker on bass and Paul Hansen on drums as they present Mostly Cole:  an evening of some of the greatest songs of Cole Porter aong with a few naughty songs by other composers.  David Duvall is one of the masters of Cole Porter as well as one of hte premiere cabaret artists in the PNW.  Sponsored by Susan Gardner, Bob Vernon and Marjorie Bianco-Vernon.

October 21:  Bodacious Ladyhood

This a cappella trio have been called “vibrant-voiced”, “impressive, innovative and inimitable”, and “a must-see.” Bodacious Ladyhood is three parts harmony, one part comedy and a whole lot of fun.  Sponsored by Western Fraternal Life Lodge Seattle #181, Bob Vernon and Marjorie Bianco-Vernon.  See the video

October  28:  The Ward Collective

A Canadian mom and her first-born move to Seattle and start playing music together when said child is a teen. Two little boys join the family. The youngest also becomes a musician, so now the three of them play together, with many guest players! Feel the magic with mezzo soprano Krista Cassidy during an evening of song, strolling down memory lane with some Disney classics. In a world where things seem strange and uncertain, we could all use a little magic.  See the video

November 11: Chloe Cavender and Kristie Werner

Join Chloé Cavender and Kristie Werner as they dust off the part of the closet we’ve all ignored since March: the dresses, the jumpsuits, the heels! It’s all making in a comeback in For The Sake of Dressing Up, as a part of the Northshore Performing Arts Foundation’s Mid-Week Mash-Up series. They are so excited to sing some of the best of musical theatre, with characters ranging from everyone’s favorite green girl to a confused beauty queen, and even two angsty brothers! Joined by John Lehrack on the piano, this is not a show to miss!  See the video

November 18:  Mercedes Nicole

Mercedes Nicole is 2018 winner of the Female Composer Award with Bluesletter.  A regularly featured blues performer in the greater Seattle area and beyond, Mercedes and her band will bring the blues to the Northshore with a tribute to B.B. King.  See the video

December 2:  Marina & the Dreamboats

After being diagnosed with a tumor that threatens her right arm, Marina Christopher felt a fire to further launch her dream project. Writing and recording in between surgeries and radiation therapy resulted in ‘Marina and The Dreamboats’, a sassy and soulful band performing songs with depth, humor, and a contagious amount of pure joy. ‘Marina and The Dreamboats’ deliver an addictive blend of jazz, soul, and classic pop and aren’t afraid to throw down a New Orleans second line.  See the video.

December 11-13:  The Nutcracker

Join NPAF and the Emerald Ballet Theatre for our annual production of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker. These year’s performance will be virtual and will bring back the magic of the best of 2019’s performances. It’s fun for the entire family.

NPAF Managing Director John Lehrack takes us on a three-week journey through some of the lesser-known songs of the musical theatre stage including music from Broadway, Off-Broadway and from shows that never made it past the workshop phase (yet!)  Included is music by such celebrated composers as  Elton John, Craig Carnelia, Heisler & Goldrich, Marvin Hamlisch, Maltby & Shire, Scott Alan and others and features songs from shows including Smile, Dani Girl, Ace, The Psychic Hour, Is There Life After High School, When Pigs Fly, Lestat, Over Here, Elegies for Angels Punks and Raging Queens, Snoopy and a whole lot more.  Part 1 and Part 2

January 19:  John in January, Part 3 – Who Wrote It?

NPAF Managing Director John Lehrack concludes his series with songs that were written by musical theatre composers but are not a part of any musical.   Composers showcased in this performance include Pasek & Paul, Stephen Schwartz, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Kerrigan & Lowdermilk, Paul Loessel, Heisler & Goldrich, George Gershwin, Oscar Hammerstein, Otto Harbach, Herbert Stothart and others.  See the video
